Note to Parents
Dear Parent or Guardian,
Thank you for taking the time to come to our website!
The sisters of Delta Psi Delta recognize that Rushing and Pledging can be a very new experience to both your daughter and yourself. We hope to address some concerns you may have in the following letter. If you are unsure or would like some additional explanation please contact us!
Your daughter has expressed interest to pledge of Delta Psi Delta's Gamma Chapter. We will get to know your daughter through the rush period. Rush is a variety of social and philanthropy based events where we can know more about each other. The Delta Psi Delta sisters hope to find common qualities and characteristics with your daughter that are embedded into Delta Psi Delta sorority such as Leadership, Scholarship, and Service. After rush period your daughter may be eligible for pledge.
Pledging is sometimes a misunderstood process because people automatically assume that there is hazing. The sisters of Delta Psi Delta want to assure you that at no point or time will your daughter incounter hazing with our sorority. We realize that the pledges are our future sisters and would never want to put them in physical or psychological harm. Please be assured that pledging is a memorable experience that truly bonds you closer to your sisters and learn about Delta Psi Delta's history.
The Gamma chapter has been an active since 2008. The sisters of the Gamma chapter want to continue to striving for excellence. We take pride in service to the community, our deep friendships with fellow sisters, and scholarship.
Every semester we take part in countless philanthropy activities. A common favourite is our annual Halloween Food Drive. On Halloween the sisters of Delta Psi Delta go to houses (which have been previously notified) collecting canned and perishable food for the Daily Bread Food Bank. Delta Psi Delta's are no stranger to the Daily Bread Food Bank because of our volunteering hours done each month. We also participate in the MS walk every year, have bake sale fundraisers around campus, and much more.
Delta Psi Delta sisters also takes pride in our academics. We understand that school is the number one priority for every member. There is a grade requirement to apply and remain in Delta Psi Delta. We try to help our sisters as much as possible to achieve academic success. Whether it is: sitting beside a sister in lecture, lending study notes, offering advice about particular classes or professors, or planning a study date at Scott Library for an upcoming exam, Delta Psi Delta sisters are always here to help each other achieve academic sucess.
If you have any additional concerns or questions do not hesitate to contact us. We will try to respond to you as soon as we possibly can.
