Q: Why should I join Delta Psi Delta? A: Being in a sorority is a great way to make new friends on campus! It makes a huge University, like York University, feel a lot smaller. Delta Psi Delta takes pride in helping others and our sisterhood. We are a Canadian National Sorority that can offer amazing connections all over because of our alum. Since DpsiD is a Canadian National Sorority we are not required to pay expensive international dues. Through Delta Psi Delta you will gain valuable leadership skills and exceptional friendships with girls just like you, that are determined to help out the community and achieve success in academics and life.
Q: How do I join Delta Psi Delta - Gamma? A: All the ladies interested in joining the sorority should out to our rush events listed on RUSH ΔΨΔ. In addition, you must attend the mandatory event and keep a free schedule for the night.
Q: I am from York's Glendon Campus am I still eligible ? A: Of course! Delta Psi Delta welcomes girls from Glendon to rush. Delta Psi Delta's rush is open to any women in a post secondary institution perusing an undergraduate degree. Q: What is rush? A: Students perusing an undergraduate degree in a post-secondary institution may participate in rush. Rush is an opportunity to meet the active members of the Greek organization and figure out if it is the right fit for you. During rush we advise potential members to ask the active sisters any questions about being an active sister of Delta Psi Delta or whatever concerns you may have.
Q: What happens after rush? A: You pledge. Pledging lasts approximately 6-8 weeks. It is for those students that are working towards becoming part of an active sister of Delta Psi Delta.
Q: Is it expensive? A: No. We are a Canadian National Sorority hence our dues are a lot lower then an International Sorority. You get to see first hand where the money is being spent without worrying about any hidden fees. Please keep in mind that there are payment plans available. Feel free to speak to us at rush how much the exact fees are or leave a message for us in the contact page.
Q: How much time does it require? A: Between 2-8 hours per week once you pledge. However, the more time you put in the more you get from the sorority experience.
Q: Is pledging for Delta Psi Delta like the movies? A: Not at all. We do not haze as we realize that our pledges are our future sisters. Through pledging and becoming an active sister you will build bonds with females that have similar goals in mind.
Q: Is it true that Philanthropy is a focus? A: Absolutely! D Psi D sisters take pride in helping out the community by volunteering at the food bank and annually participating in the MS walk. We schedule monthly volunteer events which help us become stronger as individuals and as a sorority.
Q: Is there a GPA requirement? A: Yes! Delta Psi Delta girls take academics very seriously, this is why the GPA requirement is implemented. All of the sisters try to help each other out as much as possible by: lending notes, planning study groups, or even having a sister to sit beside in lecture.
